PLEASE NOTE: This tutorial expects you to have had a guest network set up. If you have not yet requested this, please log a support ticket.
The guest WiFi is a segregated network that can only access the internet, and no internal resources (eg. servers or network shares). This allows you to provide guest users - governors, parents, contractors, etc. - internet access on their devices without exposing your internal network and the sensitive data contained, to potentially insecure devices.
Guest users will have to log on to the WiFi SSID named named ‘Guest WiFi’, using the password that has been supplied to you upon setup of your guest WiFi. When they connect, they will be redirected to a hotspot login page.
Here, they will have to enter a voucher that you have given them, which governs how long they have access for.
To manage who can access your guest network, there is an internal hotspot webpage that lets you generate and revoke new access vouchers. The address and login credentials will have been given to you upon setup of your guest WiFi.
Once logged in, you will see the following overview dashboard:
In the left column, navigate to the ‘vouchers’ icon:
Here you can see all active vouchers, create new ones, revoke existing or even print them out to give to guests.
To create a new voucher, hit the CREATE VOUCHERS
button:
Choose how long you want the voucher to last, depending on what kind of user will be using the voucher, for example, a one-time user would require One time
but a regular visitor would probably want Multi use (unlimited)
